Neuro linguistic Programming
NLP was originally promoted by founders Bandler and Grinder in the 1970s as an effective and rapid form of psychological therapy, capable of addressing the full range of problems which psychologists are likely to encounter, such as phobias, depression, habit disorder, psychosomatic illnesses, learning disorders.
It also espoused the potential for self-determination through overcoming learned limitations and emphasized well-being and healthy functioning.
At its heart NLP is a set of tools that let people model excellence in all its forms, using tools, ideas and gems of genius that allow people to achieve outstanding results and achieve goals and overcome obstacles that they would never have thought possible.
NLP has three aspects which it gives away in its name:
Neuro – the mind – how we think, feel and imagine
Linguistic – language – speaking, written and unwritten
Programming – the technical side of how to influence the mind through language
NLP is the practice of understanding how people organise their thinking, feeling, language and behaviour to produce the results they do. NLP provides people with a methodology to model outstanding performances achieved by geniuses and leaders in their field. It is all about knowing the strategies behind what works and the people that make it work and then building these into your own internal strategies. In effect you will learn how to model brilliance.
NLP is good at:
Modelling Excellence - By understanding how individuals at the height of their game achieve brilliance, this can be modelled into your own personal goals. No matter what field or what the goal is.
Curing Phobias and Fears - changing the feelings and states around the phobia, taking you back to a remembered time when you didn’t have the phobia and installing a new strategy is all easy with NLP
Achieving your goals and going beyond them - NLP is particularly effective in helping you set, achieve, maintain and exceed your goals!

A key element of NLP is that we form our unique internal mental maps of the world as a product of the way we filter and perceive information absorbed through our five senses from the world around us. Understanding this and our own preferred preferences, we can start to play and adapt these to not only enhance our own learning but also improve how we communicate with everyone around us.
